The Health Services Management of the Lanzarote Health Area has renewed its ISO 9001:2015 quality management certification, expanding its scope this year to include the Tías Health Center and Primary Care units.

The Health Services Management of the Lanzarote Health Area, under the Canary Islands Government's Ministry of Health, has renewed its ISO 9001:2015 quality management system certification. This recognition validates the work of professionals across various services and units. This year, the certification's scope has been extended to include the Tías Health Center and central Primary Care units, marking progress in implementing a quality management model within Lanzarote's healthcare system.
Within the hospital setting, the ISO 9001:2015 certification has been renewed for the Rehabilitation, Emergency, Transfusion, Pharmacy, and Radiodiagnosis services, as well as for Admissions, Engineering, Maintenance and Works, and Warehouse and Purchasing. The units of Training, Quality, Information Management, Research Support, and Communication are also included. The expansion of this management system allows for a common methodology for monitoring and evaluating processes, identifying improvement opportunities, and optimizing patient care.
Furthermore, the Doctor José Molina Orosa University Hospital has also renewed its ISO 14001 environmental management certification. This recognition highlights the commitment of the center and its professionals to environmental protection and sustainable management. The ISO 14001 system establishes procedures to identify and control the environmental aspects associated with healthcare activities, promoting efficient resource use and minimizing environmental impact.
These certifications, awarded by the Agency for Quality and Environmental Certification (ACCM), demonstrate the commitment of Lanzarote's Health Services Management to continuous improvement and patient-centered care. Manager Pablo Eguia expressed satisfaction, emphasizing the professionals' effort as "the fundamental piece" in achieving these certifications and ensuring quality, safe, and user-focused healthcare. Meanwhile, Director of Quality and Processes, María Hernández, noted that the renewal consolidates management systems aimed at excellence and professional involvement, considering the inclusion of the Tías Health Center and Primary Care units an important step towards better patient care.
