Informational panels about the La Rama festival in Agaete, Gran Canaria.

The Agaete Town Council has launched an initiative to install 15 informational panels along the route of the La Rama festival, aiming to enrich the experience of both residents and visitors regarding this cultural celebration.

This project, carried out by the company Arqueocanarias, received 15,000 euros in funding from the Department of Presidency and Sustainable Mobility of the Cabildo de Gran Canaria, through the Insular Institute for the Integrated Management of World Heritage and the Biosphere Reserve of Gran Canaria. The goal is to highlight the cultural significance of La Rama throughout the year.
The 15 panels, designed with durable and accessible materials, incorporate interactive resources such as QR codes. Their content, available in two languages, offers an in-depth look at the history, evolution, and most representative elements of the festival, which has been declared a Site of Cultural Interest and a Festival of Tourist Interest.
Highlighted information includes introductory texts, contextualization of the festival, photographs, drawings, and historical archives. Key aspects such as the music, the 'papagüevos' (giant figures), the branch as a plant element, the street celebration, and details about the history of the Diana, the Retreta, the streetlights, the nougat sellers, and the fairground workers are also covered.
These outdoor information points not only disseminate cultural heritage but also aim to revitalize the social and commercial fabric of the neighborhoods where they have been installed. Some of the emblematic locations that already feature panels include Nuestra Señora de las Nieves street, the facade of the Town Hall, the Callejón de La Rama, the Camino de Los Romeros, El Calvario, and the Ermita de Las Nieves.
