Antonio María Benítez Melián to be the Herald for Barrial's 2026 Festivities

The councilor for Animal Welfare, Youth, and Senior Club of the Gáldar City Council will read the proclamation on Sunday, August 16th, at Plaza José Rodríguez Quintana.

Antonio María Benítez Melián, councilor for Animal Welfare, Youth, and Senior Club of the Gáldar City Council, will be responsible for reading the Proclamation for the Festivities in honor of Our Lady of the Forsaken of Barrial this Sunday, August 16th. The event will take place starting at 9:00 PM at Plaza José Rodríguez Quintana.

The festive day will begin at 8:00 PM with the departure of the children's papagüevos from the front of the Stadium, accompanied by the charanga band Vitamina Band. Afterwards, next to the church, the flag of the Festivities will be raised.
At 9:00 PM, the activity will move to Plaza José Rodríguez Quintana to commence the proclamation. The speech by Antonio María Benítez Melián, who in addition to being a councilor is a resident of Barrial and a collaborator with the Neighbors Association Amagro, will focus on his personal experiences and memories of the neighborhood.
The opening event will also feature a musical performance by Celia Jiménez, who will add an artistic touch to the presentation of the festival program.
