The workshop titled 'No More Falls', scheduled for Wednesday, September 23rd at 10:00 AM at the Municipal Senior Club of Santa Brígida, aims to prevent falls and preserve the autonomy of older adults. The session will be led by the Official College of Physiotherapists of the Canary Islands (COFC) and is part of the health promotion initiatives from the Department of Seniors.
The activity is open to all citizens and will be free of charge, with no prior registration required. Falls are identified as one of the main risks to the health and independence of the elderly, particularly in the context of a progressively aging population.
Preventing falls involves promoting healthy habits and providing tools to maintain strength, balance, and functional capacity over time. The COFC emphasizes the importance of regular physical activity, tailored to each individual's capabilities.
This initiative focuses on prevention as a fundamental strategy for maintaining health and fostering active, autonomous aging, offering practical knowledge and recommendations for seniors to incorporate into their daily lives.
