The Santa María de Guía City Council has opened the registration period for participation in the traditional El Pino Pilgrimage, which will take place on September 7 in Teror, Gran Canaria.

The traditional cart from Santa María de Guía will occupy the eleventh position in the order of municipal participation in the pilgrimage. This festive event brings together the 21 municipalities of the island, serving as a meeting point for Canarian traditions, folklore, and popular culture.
To facilitate attendance, the City Council will provide a bus transport service departing from the Lomo Guillén Interchange at 2:30 PM. The delegation will be led by the mayor, Alfredo Gonçalves Ferreira, and will feature the municipality's representative cart, adorned with local produce.

"An event that allows us to meet with the other municipalities of Gran Canaria and, above all, keep our traditions alive. It is a day to enjoy our music, our clothing, our products, and everything that is part of our culture and our identity as a people."

Alfredo Gonçalves Ferreira · Mayor of Santa María de Guía
Participants are reminded of the importance of wearing traditional Canarian attire. Registration to reserve a seat on the bus must be made by calling +34 928 896 555, extension 0352, between 10:00 AM and 1:00 PM. The deadline is Thursday, September 3, or when all available spots are filled.
