The Cabildo de La Palma, through Sodepal, and the Garafía Town Council, are organizing the Talent Camp Garafía 2026, an event to be held from July 10 to 12 to promote innovation and entrepreneurship in the municipality.

This initiative's main goal is to energize the territory through talent, creativity, and citizen participation. The Minister of Economic Promotion and CEO of Sodepal, Miriam Perestelo, highlighted that the project aligns with the island's strategy to support rural municipalities.

"It is part of the island's strategy to boost rural municipalities, valuing their opportunities to attract talent, strengthen the economic fabric, diversify their activity, and consolidate their tourist and commercial positioning, as well as their rich heritage."

Meanwhile, the Mayor of Villa de Garafía, José Ángel Sánchez, expressed his gratitude to the Cabildo Insular de La Palma for bringing this project to his town. He underscored the need for such initiatives for the social and labor benefit of citizens of all ages.

"Our town needs initiatives and events of this type, as they are beneficial for the public of all ages in social and even labor matters."

The Talent Camp Garafía 2026 will be developed using a methodology based on real challenges and practical learning. Participating teams will design innovative solutions with a direct impact on the territory. Over the three days, participants will address different phases of the entrepreneurial process, from identifying opportunities to presenting their final proposals to a specialized jury.
The program features an inclusive and competitive format, where all teams advance by accumulating points and rewards based on their performance. The team with the highest score will be recognized as the winner, and all proposals will receive evaluation and follow-up to foster their development and implementation in the region. Registrations are open from April 15 to May 30 via the event's official website.
