The discovery of a cow carcass in an advanced state of decomposition on the east coast of Fuerteventura has mobilized the La Oliva City Council. The animal was found stranded at Playa Valdivia, a stretch of coastline in the Majorero municipality, after being reported by several residents who alerted the authorities.

The operation, coordinated by the Beaches Department, took place last Monday, May 19. According to the City Council's primary hypothesis, the cow was likely thrown into the sea from a transporting vessel and subsequently carried by marine currents to the beach.

The presence of the animal in this condition caused surprise among locals and regular visitors to the area, given the size of the carcass and the potential environmental and health implications for a coastal zone.
