The Government of the Canary Islands has commenced the construction of a new health facility in Corralejo, designed to enhance medical services in the municipality of La Oliva.

The project, with a budget of 9.9 million euros, is co-financed by the European Union through the FEDER program. Construction began last June and is scheduled to be completed within 23 months, covering a total area of 3,500 square meters.
The facility is designed as a single-story building to ensure universal accessibility. It will serve the La Oliva Basic Health Zone, which currently provides care to 27,450 people residing in areas such as El Cotillo, Lajares, Tindaya, and Parque Holandés.
The center will feature specialized areas for family medicine, pediatrics, emergency services, physiotherapy, oral health, and radiology. This development addresses the population growth in the region, which had exceeded the capacity of existing local health facilities.
