Newly built bike lane between La Capellanía and Corralejo, with acoustic screens and Fuerteventura coastal landscape.
The La Oliva City Council and the Department of Public Works, Housing and Mobility have given their definitive approval to the complementary works project for the FV-1 road, in the section connecting La Capellanía with Corralejo, with an investment of 1.85 million euros.
This project, valued at 1.85 million euros, includes the installation of acoustic screens to mitigate noise, better integration of the road into its natural environment, and the creation of a bike lane. This initiative responds to a historical demand from the residents of Tamaragua, seeking to reinforce the road's functionality, promote sustainable mobility, and improve the infrastructure in a safe and diversified manner.

"This action addresses one of the neighborhood's biggest demands with the creation of a bike lane that goes from La Capellanía to Corralejo. In addition, this project is joined by the one already approved in recent months, which includes the installation of lighting for the roundabouts from Corralejo to La Caldereta."
For his part, the counselor of Public Works highlighted that this initiative, which seeks to improve the sustainability of the infrastructure and the quality of life of citizens, is part of the department's Green Strategy. This strategy conceives sustainability as a fundamental pillar in the planning, maintenance, and use of roads, transcending the traditional vision of a simple asphalt road.

"From the Cabildo, we are very happy that this bike lane project, which has been so demanded by the La Oliva City Council and the residents of La Capellanía, has finally been approved. This action will improve sustainable mobility, as residents will be able to travel by bicycle, while also improving the quality of life of the population in the area by reducing highway noise with acoustic screens."
This action underscores the commitment of local and regional administrations to improving the road network, promoting sustainable mobility, and enhancing the well-being of the municipality's inhabitants.
