Four social projects have received subsidies from the Puerto del Rosario City Council to support vulnerable groups. The beneficiary entities are Asomasamen, Fuerte Yoga, the Breast Cancer Association Metastatic, and Affa, which will develop programs aimed at the care of people with mental health problems, cancer patients, and individuals with dementia.
The mayor of Puerto del Rosario, David de Vera, highlighted that these agreements reflect the council's commitment to people, especially those in situations of greater vulnerability.
Asomasamen's project 'Metamorphosis' will offer individualized and comprehensive therapeutic support for people with mental health problems, aiming to foster their personal autonomy and social inclusion.
Fuerte Yoga will implement a program of physical exercise, therapeutic yoga, and mindfulness for individuals undergoing active oncological treatment, with the goal of improving their physical and emotional well-being during the illness.
The Breast Cancer Association Metastatic will receive funds for its project providing access to oncology wigs, a resource intended to enhance the emotional well-being, self-esteem, and quality of life for those affected by cancer and their families in Fuerteventura.
Affa will allocate the municipal subsidy to 'Retales de la memoria', a project that offers comprehensive care to people with dementia in Puerto del Rosario, promoting their functional, relational, and cognitive autonomy while providing support to their families and caregivers.
