The Vallehermoso City Council celebrates this Thursday, June 18, the Pedro Suárez Cultural Festival, dedicated to the teachers who were pillars of local education and society.

The municipality of Vallehermoso is preparing to host a new edition of the Pedro Suárez Cultural Festival this Thursday, June 18. This year's event will focus on honoring the teachers who left an indelible mark on the town's educational and social history.
Born in 2002 as a tribute to Pedro Suárez, a renowned folklorist and local resident, the festival has become a cultural benchmark and a space to recognize those who have contributed to the identity of Vallehermoso. The current edition, the twenty-fourth, highlights the educators who taught in the municipality's schools, key women during a time of opening educational opportunities for many families.
Schools were central hubs in village life, and the teachers' work extended beyond academics, closely linking to the social evolution of Vallehermoso. The tribute aims to value the role of these women, many of whom came from elsewhere while others had long careers in the municipality, united by their vocation of service and their contribution to social progress through education.

"This tribute stems from the gratitude of an entire town towards women who performed an essential role in educating entire generations. The teachers helped broaden opportunities, supported the growth of many children, and left a profound mark on our families' lives."

Emiliano Coello · Mayor of Vallehermoso

"This tribute is built upon shared memories from the community itself. Photographs, testimonies, and experiences have allowed us to recognize women who were part of daily life in Vallehermoso and whose memory remains very present for many families."

Estrella Morales · Councillor for Culture
The event will feature audiovisual testimonies, theatrical reenactments by actress Mar Gutiérrez, and the participation of local residents. School photographs and documentary material provided by the community will be displayed, creating a journey through Vallehermoso's educational history built from collective memory.
The gala will take place this Thursday, June 18, at 9:30 PM in the Plaza de la Constitución, with doors opening at 9:15 PM. The program will also include a performance by the Parranda Pal Porrón.
