Famara Concludes Successful Fiestas with High Attendance and Safety

Famara yesterday marked the end of its Sagrado Corazón de María festivities, which brought together thousands over ten days in La Caleta, highlighting high participation and a very positive safety record.

The town of Famara yesterday, Sunday, August 30, concluded its celebrations in honor of the Sagrado Corazón de María, which lasted for ten days. The final events included the traditional maritime-terrestrial procession and a water festival, gatherings that brought thousands of attendees to La Caleta.
Famara's Pier became the main meeting point, with an estimated daily attendance of around 5,000 people. The busiest days were Thursday and Friday, coinciding with the traditional music night and the main festival.
The Local Police councilor for Teguise, Ginés González, stated that approximately 5,000 people were counted on Friday, a figure based on aerial and surface measurements, in addition to those in the streets whose numbers are harder to quantify.
The Teguise City Council highlighted the low number of incidents recorded, especially considering the large concentration of people in a natural setting like La Caleta de Famara. The Councilor for Security and Emergencies, Eugenio Robayna, thanked attendees for their behavior, noting that the festivities proceeded with virtually no incidents.

Robayna also praised the security deployment, which involved the Civil Guard, Local Police, Canarian Police, Firefighters, Emerlan, and Civil Protection, along with Teguise City Council staff. He summarized the celebration as having "practically nothing" in terms of incidents, expressing surprise at the attendees' conduct.
With the end of the festivities, the process of returning Famara to normality begins. Municipal services have spent the last two weeks setting up and preparing the area, and will now dismantle the infrastructure. The town is expected to regain its usual state throughout this week.
Famara thus concludes a festival characterized by high participation, particularly on its central days, and a positive outcome in terms of safety and community coexistence.
