The town of Teguise hosted the V Agriculture, Livestock and Fishing Fair this weekend, an event that highlighted the primary sector of Lanzarote.

The gathering served as the stage for the awards ceremony of the V Lanzarote Empleita de Oro Island Cheese Contest. This annual event highlights the work of local producers and the quality of the products made on the island.
In this edition, the highest recognition, the 2026 Empleita de Oro, was awarded to a local cheese factory. The specialized jury granted the distinction for the best cheese on the island to a cured cheese made with pasteurized milk, praising its flavor and production process.
The fair is established as a fundamental meeting point for professionals in the fields of agriculture and fishing in Lanzarote, promoting the consumption of local products and the recognition of island gastronomic traditions.
