The Civil Guard has successfully arrested one of the two alleged perpetrators of a violent assault and robbery against a foreign citizen in Morro Jable, Fuerteventura, following an investigation that included reviewing security camera footage.

Operation “PUSILK”, carried out by the Civil Guard from the Main Post of Morro Jable, in Fuerteventura, has concluded with the arrest of one of the individuals involved in an assault and robbery. The second alleged perpetrator has been identified but remains at large.
The investigation began after a complaint was filed by a foreign resident on the island, who reported being approached by several unknown individuals while returning home. The victim was assaulted from behind with punches and kicks, resulting in facial injuries that required eleven stitches on the forehead and six on the right eyebrow.
Officers from the Morro Jable Investigation Area reconstructed the events by reviewing security camera footage from a shopping center. The images showed two hooded individuals accosting the victim, assaulting them, and stealing their bag, from which they took the wallet before fleeing and leaving the victim on the ground. The victim later contacted a friend who provided assistance and took them to a medical center.
Following a thorough analysis of the area and the reconstruction of the assailants' route, they were fully identified. A joint operation with patrols from the Crime Prevention Area of Morro Jable led to the arrest of one of the individuals, as the other had left the island. The arrested person has been remanded in custody by judicial order, and the Civil Guard continues efforts to locate the second perpetrator.
