The Alajeró City Council has opened the application period for transport aid aimed at students pursuing official face-to-face studies outside La Gomera, provided these cannot be undertaken on the island.

This aid is intended for those pursuing studies leading to official qualifications in Arts Baccalaureate, Vocational Training Cycles (Intermediate and Higher), and University Degrees and Master's Degrees, when these are not offered on the island.
Among the requirements is being registered in the municipal registry of Alajeró uninterruptedly since January 1, 2026, and being enrolled in the 2026/2027 academic year in public or authorized private centers, in face-to-face mode.
Applicants must submit, along with the official form available at the municipal electronic headquarters and offices, a photocopy of their DNI or equivalent identification, the enrollment for the 2026/2027 academic year, and, if applicable, proof of payment of academic fees.
The application period will be open from Monday, October 19, to November 16, 2026, inclusive.
The mayor of Alajeró, Manuel Ramón Plasencia, highlighted that this initiative is part of the policies to support students and their families, helping them to cover the expenses of traveling outside La Gomera for their studies.
