The Department of Presidency, Public Administrations, Justice and Security has launched the 'Asóciat-e' training workshops in San Sebastián de La Gomera, aimed at strengthening citizen participation and the digital management of associations.

The first session of 'Asóciat-e', organized by the General Directorate of Transparency and Citizen Participation, took place on Tuesday, April 14. The program focuses on providing associations with tools and knowledge to adapt to digital administrative procedures, emphasizing the redesign of the Government of the Canary Islands' websites for these entities.
During the workshop, crucial topics were addressed, such as simplified administrative processing, the explanation of the new statutes model, and the updating of guiding documents. The goal is to ensure that the language used in procedures is clear and understandable, thus facilitating the interaction of associations with the administration.

"The workshops held in San Sebastián de La Gomera have provided practical tools to the island's associations, facilitating their adaptation to digital administrative procedures and strengthening their daily management capacity, with the aim of reducing the digital divide in the associative sphere and improving the autonomy of entities."

Carmen Delia Alberto · Director General of Transparency and Citizen Participation
The mayor of San Sebastián de La Gomera, Angélica Padilla, highlighted the importance of initiatives like 'Asóciat-e' for the promotion and development of local associations. She stressed that these training sessions are fundamental for entities to adapt to digital procedures effectively and securely, ensuring the continuity of their functions.

"From the City Council, we value the celebration of these training workshops, which we consider fundamental to ensure that the associations in our municipality can continue to exercise their functions and develop activities in a more efficient, modern, and secure way."

Angélica Padilla · Mayor of San Sebastián de La Gomera
The 'Asóciat-e' project will continue its tour through various municipalities in the Canary Islands. The next sessions will be held in Gran Canaria in April, followed by Tenerife, Fuerteventura, and El Hierro in May. In June, the workshops will reach La Graciosa, Lanzarote, and La Palma, aiming to improve the relationship between associations and the Public Administration, prioritizing the use of electronic tools for managing official communications and administrative procedures.
