The Valle Gran Rey City Council, in collaboration with the Cabildo Insular de La Gomera, has organized an extensive program of cultural activities to commemorate Book Day, which will take place from April 21 to 25 in various venues across the municipality.

The program will commence on Tuesday, April 21, at 11:00 AM, in the auditorium of the Cultural Center, with the children's theater performance Piratas Ilustrados. This activity is specifically aimed at students from Infantil and Primaria at CEO Nereida Díaz Abreu and CEIP El Retamal.
On Thursday, April 23, coinciding with the official Book Day, the Municipal Library will host a craft workshop titled “Crea tu propio marcapáginas” (Create your own bookmark). The activity, scheduled from 4:30 PM to 6:30 PM, seeks to foster creativity and reading habits among the children of the municipality.
The celebrations will continue on Friday, April 24, at 7:00 PM, also at the Cultural Center, with the presentation of the book Folklore y fiestas de La Gomera, viaje al mundo del tambor (Folklore and festivals of La Gomera, journey to the world of the drum). This work highlights the traditions and cultural heritage of the island.
To conclude this week dedicated to reading and culture, on Saturday, April 25, at 8:00 PM, the same venue will host a concert by the group Jeita, who will present their show “Cruce de caminos” (Crossroads), a proposal that blends music and tradition for all audiences.
The Valle Gran Rey City Council invites residents and visitors to participate in these initiatives, which aim to promote reading, revitalize the cultural life of the municipality, and bring literature and traditions closer to the community.
