Under the slogan “Prevent, protect, act, save,” the event highlighted the coordination of emergency services and the importance of citizen training to improve safety and response in emergencies. The SUC's participation focuses on promoting prevention and first aid training so the public can recognize dangerous situations and act before professional help arrives, and to showcase the work of the service's professionals in urgent healthcare.
Knowing how to act in case of cardiac arrest, an accident, or any other situation requiring urgent medical assistance can improve survival rates and reduce sequelae. In this regard, the SUC's presence at these Conferences reaffirms prevention and training as life-saving tools.
The Canary Emergency Service handles thousands of calls for help daily, managed by healthcare coordinators—doctors and nurses—who assess the severity of each situation, prioritize assistance, and assign the most appropriate resource. At the incident site, healthcare personnel from ambulances, helicopters, and the medicalized aircraft attend to those affected and transport them to hospitals or health centers based on their condition.
During the conference, SUC professionals conducted resuscitation workshops for adults and young people, and displayed the medical equipment of rapid intervention vehicles and an advanced life support ambulance.
