C.F. Unión Carrizal celebrates 75 years of history

The football club commemorated its anniversary with an institutional and social event in Ingenio, recognizing its trajectory and members.

C.F. Unión Carrizal commemorated its 75 years of history this Wednesday, August 12, with an emotional Institutional and Social Event held at Parque del Buen Suceso in Ingenio.

The celebration began with a tribute to the flag, escorted by a representation of the youth academy. The event, presented by Juan López Vega, traced the club's history through commemorative videos, recalling the many individuals who have been part of it over seven and a half decades. A central moment was the intervention of Miguel Vega Herrera, who recounted the origins of football in the town, remembering people, titles, and moments from the historical, sporting, and social memory of C.F. Unión Carrizal.
The institutional event was attended by the counselor of the Cabildo de Gran Canaria, Juan Díaz; the mayor of Ingenio, Vanesa Martín; the vice-president of the Federación Interinsular de Fútbol, Reinaldo Montesdeoca; and the president of C.F. Unión Carrizal, Mario Ramírez.

Reinaldo Montesdeoca congratulated the club on its 75 years and presented a commemorative plaque on behalf of the Federación Interinsular de Fútbol. Club president Mario Ramírez expressed his satisfaction with the significant public turnout and thanked the organizing committee, highlighting the bond between the people of El Carrizal and their club. The mayor of Ingenio, Vanesa Martín, emphasized the importance of sports in transmitting values such as effort and teamwork.
The celebration included the presentation of awards to key figures in the history of C.F. Unión Carrizal. The company Hermanos Viera gifted the club a special wooden carving of the C.F. Unión Carrizal crest. A minute of silence was observed for deceased members. To conclude, the club's new anthem, composed by A.C.R. Murga Los Legañosos, was performed.
