The Plaza de la Candelaria in Ingenio will host the 40th Km.0 Agri-food Fair and the 10th Sun Fair on September 26-27, events aimed at reinforcing commitment to sustainability and the environment.
The Mancomunidad del Sureste de Gran Canaria presented this Tuesday, September 15, at the Plaza de la Candelaria in Ingenio, the 40th Km.0 Agri-food Fair and the 10th Sun Fair. Both fairs will be held jointly on September 26 and 27, from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM. These events aim to promote sustainability and environmental respect through the display of local products and activities focused on renewable energies, culinary, and technological innovation.
The event was attended by the President of the Mancomunidad and Mayor of Agüimes, Óscar Hernández; the Second Vice-President and Mayor of Ingenio, Vanesa Martín; and the First Deputy Mayor of Santa Lucía de Tirajana, Julio Ojeda. Participating companies were announced, including over 35 agri-food producers, 6 renewable energy companies, and 6 automotive companies.

"Today we presented the 40th Km.0 Fair and the 10th edition of the Sun Fair, linked to the energy promotion of our mancomunidad, and which on September 26 and 27 will showcase in this very Plaza de la Candelaria the work of 45 producers from the agri-food sector and 12 green energy companies. Both initiatives reinforce the region's link with sustainable development, support for agriculture and livestock, and the recovery of traditional landscapes."

"The celebration of the Km.0 Fair and the Sun Fair is a joint effort of the island's primary sector, entities committed to environmentally friendly innovation, and public institutions; a necessary effort to continue supporting both the agri-food sector and the renewable energy and sustainable transport sectors, and to preserve the identity that defines the Mancomunidad del Sureste."
“
"From Santa Lucía de Tirajana, we support all initiatives that bring closer to citizens the opportunities offered by renewable energies and, at the same time, give visibility to the work of our producers. The Km.0 Fair and the Sun Fair are good examples of how to combine the promotion of our local products with the commitment to a more sustainable energy model."
The Km. 0 Gran Canaria Fair returns to Ingenio to bring products made in Gran Canaria directly from their producers. A representation from the agriculture, livestock, pastry, and agri-food sectors will showcase the richness and diversity of local products throughout the weekend, with 45 producers distributed across 25 categories. Fruits and vegetables, cheeses, honey, wines, bread, pastries, oil, olives, coffee, beer, salt, jams, pasta, flowers, plants, and sweet cane juice are some of the offerings for visitors. It's an opportunity to learn about the work of island producers and support a proximity economy that helps maintain the territory.
The shared celebration with the Sun Fair will bring together local products and solutions linked to a more sustainable energy model in one space. Companies specializing in renewable energy and sustainable transport will present their proposals and innovations.
