The Socialist Party of Santa Lucía de Tirajana has issued a clear warning, refusing to be used as a "shield" in local political disputes and demanding effective municipal management and institutional respect.

The party held an extraordinary assembly where it ratified its support for the municipal group but was emphatic in distancing itself from the current political instability. Sources from the local leadership emphasized that they would not accept being blamed for the situation or serving external interests.

"We will not be scapegoats or a shield for political agendas that do not belong to us."

During the meeting, the political situation of the municipality since the beginning of the year was analyzed, when the governing group, which includes the PSOE, became a minority after the mayor dismissed three councilors. The April plenary session was also discussed, where the opposition withdrew due to the mayor's decision not to become a non-attached member, based on a ruling from the Government of the Canary Islands contrary to that of the municipal secretary.

"The PSOE is not here to support a government of non-management. We have a proven track record of effectiveness in this municipality and we will not tolerate being associated with political paralysis or personal and partisan confrontations."

The socialist members rallied around their representatives, granting them autonomy to make decisions aimed at restoring stability and effectiveness in public management. The socialists stressed that their participation in the municipal government is based on a firm commitment to management and results.
The assembly also established two "red lines" for the municipal group: the demand for government action focused on effective management and citizen needs, and the defense of political dignity, rejecting any role that implies supporting decisions that deviate from institutional loyalty or the agreed progress program.
