Over 250 schoolchildren from five educational centers in Santa Lucía de Tirajana gathered in Los Algodoneros square for the Health Fair, where they advocated for the importance of science and healthy habits.

The Health Fair, held to mark World Health Day, brought together students under the motto “Together for health, let's support science.” Participants read a manifesto emphasizing the relevance of caring for health and science to achieve a full and happy life.
The event featured various informational booths, where staff from the Health Promotion Area and the Vecindario and Doctoral health centers offered practical advice for a healthy lifestyle. Additionally, several local groups presented their services related to well-being.

"Health is feeling good, growing strong, and living happily."

Schoolchildren from the Tagoror, Tajinaste, Paredilla, Tinguaro, and Casa Pastores centers were the main protagonists, highlighting crucial aspects of health in their manifesto. While students from CEIP Tagoror emphasized the importance of daily habits such as “eating healthy foods, playing, moving, and exercising,” those from CEIP Tajinaste stressed that “science teaches us to take better care of ourselves and make responsible decisions.”
Students from CEIP Paredilla highlighted the connection between caring for the planet and personal health, noting that air, water, and living spaces directly influence well-being. Meanwhile, those from CEIP Casa Pastores reminded that “prevention is learning, informing oneself, and practicing empathy,” asserting that small gestures can lead to big changes.
The day concluded with a student interpreting the World Health Day motto in the Silbo Gomero whistle language, symbolizing the integration of local culture in health promotion. The students also participated in a group choreography, closing the event with a playful and participatory activity.

"This Health Fair aims to bring the work carried out throughout the year in favor of individual and community health to the streets."
