The Santa Lucía de Tirajana City Council, in collaboration with sports clubs and entities, has launched an extensive 2026 Summer Sports Camp program, aimed at young people aged 3 to 17 years.

The offering, which will run between June and August, combines the practice of various sports disciplines with workshops on recycling, dance, skating, Canarian sports, crafts, and road safety education. Activities take place in multiple municipal facilities such as the Municipal Pavilion of La Unión, the Municipal Athletics Stadium, the Sardina Sports Center, and several football fields across the municipality.
Mayor Francisco García and the Councilor for Physical Activity and Sports, Julio Ojeda, visited several camps to learn about the initiatives firsthand. The mayor emphasized the importance of these camps for young people to enjoy their free time with healthy habits and to facilitate work-life balance for families. Ojeda, for his part, highlighted the wide range of activities to promote active lifestyles among the municipality's youth.
Swimming will play a prominent role with camps organized by the Club Natación Sacoa and the Club Natación Salinas Santa Lucía, which will include complementary activities such as excursions and school support. Athletics will be the focus of the camp organized by Club Deportivo UAVA, while racket sports and skating will be featured in the proposals from the Club de Tenis Universal and the Club de Patinaje Aliart.
Football will be one of the summer's main attractions, with camps organized by CF Casa Pastores, Estrella CF, CD San Pedro Mártir, CD Vecinklubf, and CD Cerruda, offering technical training, coaching methodology, tournaments, and recreational activities. Basketball will be represented by CD Suresanta. Most camps are held in municipal facilities and offer various schedules and services, including early drop-off in many cases.
Interested individuals can consult the registration deadlines, prices, and specific conditions for each camp through the social media and websites of the Municipal Athenaeum and the sports clubs.
