The National Police has dismantled a drug dealing point in a home in Santa Lucía de Tirajana, arresting a 55-year-old man last Monday, March 20, following weeks of investigation and neighborhood complaints.

Officers of the National Police have carried out an operation in the municipality of Santa Lucía de Tirajana, culminating in the arrest of a 55-year-old man. He is accused of a public health offense, specifically for the sale of narcotic substances. The intervention took place last Monday, March 20, and was the result of an investigation that spanned several weeks.
The inquiries began after receiving various reports warning about the possible existence of a drug dealing point in a property in the town. The alerts indicated a constant flow of people entering and leaving the dwelling for short periods, a characteristic pattern of this type of illicit activity.
Given these suspicions, officers established surveillance operations that confirmed the criminal activity. During these follow-ups, it was verified that the property operated as a distribution center for narcotic substances at retail. On the day of the arrest, investigators observed the suspect carrying out a hashish transaction in a public street in exchange for money, at which point both individuals were intercepted and the drug seized.
Subsequently, and with the appropriate judicial authorization, a search was carried out at the detainee's home. During the operation, more than 1.2 kilograms of hashish (1,051 grams of hashish pollen and 170 grams of hashish), a precision scale, various tools for handling and distributing the drug, and 780 euros in fractional cash were seized.

"The investigated individual himself collaborated during the search, voluntarily indicating the location of part of the substance inside the home."

Police proceedings determined that the detainee used both his home and a vehicle he owned to carry out the distribution, thus consolidating an active selling point in the area. After the police actions were completed, the arrested individual was brought before the judicial authority, where he was released with charges, awaiting the evolution of the judicial process.
The National Police has emphasized the importance of citizen collaboration in detecting criminal activities, offering the possibility of providing confidential and anonymous information through their official website.
