The 25th edition of Maspalomas Pride by Freedom 2026 concluded with a massive parade in San Bartolomé de Tirajana, Gran Canaria, bringing together thousands of people of all ages and nationalities to celebrate the history and legacy of the LGTBIQ+ community.

This Saturday, the streets of San Bartolomé de Tirajana burst into a kaleidoscope of colors, marking the culmination of an edition that transcended mere celebration to become a powerful statement. Participants from over twenty countries, adorned in costumes, outfits, and banners, championed a message that resonates strongly across generations.

Our history, their legacy, our pride.

Under the motto "Our history, their legacy, our pride," this 25th-anniversary celebration honored the elders of the LGTBIQ+ community, acknowledging their fundamental role in building a collective history. These pioneering figures, who paved the way during challenging times, were celebrated for their courage and for raising the first voices in pursuit of visibility and freedom.
Starting from the Hotel Riu Palace Maspalomas, the float parade, featuring 38 vehicles, transformed the main thoroughfares of Maspalomas into a whirlwind of color, glitter, and joy. The day, expected to draw over 80,000 people to the Yumbo Commercial Center, continued with a vibrant ten-hour music party featuring DJs and singers.
The Maspalomas Pride program, which spanned a week, included free shows, over 30 musical events with DJs and national and international artists, as well as galas and literary activities. On Friday night, over 10,000 people packed the Yumbo for the 25th-anniversary gala, where the Freedom Awards and Diverse Literature Awards were presented. Additionally, singer Melody, Spain's representative in Eurovision 2025, attracted nearly 6,000 attendees to the Ocean Club de Maspalomas.
Throughout its 25-year trajectory, Maspalomas Pride by Freedom has solidified the island's reputation as a diverse and welcoming destination, known not only for its dunes and beaches but also for its vibrant nightlife and its position as an epicenter of LGTBIQ+ culture in Europe. The previous edition in 2025 had already set record figures with over 350,000 attendees and an economic impact of 150 million euros.
