The Canarian Emergency Service has performed an emergency transfer of a patient with a severe surgical complication from Playa del Inglés, in San Bartolomé de Tirajana, to the Insular University Hospital of Gran Canaria.

The operation began after a bystander found the man feeling unwell on a bench near a shopping center parking lot. Upon noticing an open surgical wound, the individual contacted the Canarian Emergency Service and followed immobilization instructions provided by the emergency coordinator.
Given the clinical severity, a complex response was activated, involving two ambulances—one equipped for advanced life support—and a medical helicopter. Coordination ensured the patient could be admitted directly to the operating room upon arrival at the hospital.
At the scene, medical teams stabilized the patient before transferring him to the aircraft. This operation was supported by the San Bartolomé de Tirajana Fire Department and local police officers, who secured the landing zone in the parking area to facilitate the transfer.
