The Mogán Town Council has urged the Cabildo's Department of Public Works to inspect the condition of the cliff along the GC-500, specifically the stretch between Arguineguín and Patalavaca, following the appearance of cracks that have alarmed drivers.

Mogán's mayor, Onalia Bueno, highlighted that several written requests for a technical inspection of these cliffs have been submitted previously. The issue has resurfaced due to new cracks near the Sunwing hotel, causing concern among road users.
Meanwhile, Nueva Canarias (NC), through its spokesperson Juan Manuel Gabella, has also echoed the concerns of residents and drivers. NC has focused on the possibility that the construction of homes at the top of the cliff might be impacting its stability.

"The owner of the cliff must be required to make it safe."

In response, NC has called on the local government to inspect the cliff, implement provisional measures, and determine if the construction work on the upper part is negatively affecting its structure. They also insist on identifying the cliff's owner to demand its remediation.
