The Government of the Canary Islands and the Mogán City Council are initiating the construction of a new roundabout on the GC-200 to facilitate access to the historic center, improving traffic safety and flow.

The GC-200 road in Mogán will be the site of a significant infrastructure project with the construction of a new roundabout. This initiative, coordinated by the Ministry of Public Works, Housing, and Mobility of the Government of the Canary Islands and the Mogán City Council, primarily aims to reorganize mobility and enhance safety at the junction providing access to the historic center.
The project, already awarded for 817,416.81 euros and with a ten-month execution period, will transform the current intersection into a roundabout. The site visit included Mayor Onalia Bueno and the Councilor for Public Works, Ernesto Hernández, along with technicians from both administrations and the awarded company, to review intervention details and plan traffic changes.
The roundabout will improve traffic integration between the main road and the urban core, enhancing flow and reducing risks. Mayor Onalia Bueno stated that the City Council will inform residents about traffic diversions once work begins, framing this intervention within a municipal strategy to modernize mobility in the historic center, which also includes a new parking building and future bypass routes.
The council highlights that residential growth in the historic center has increased the need to manage traffic flows and improve access, with these actions aiming to create new relief routes and facilitate entry for both residents and visitors.
