Veneguera experienced its folklore through music, dance, and the display of traditional Canarian costumes at the third edition of its festival.

Folklore was intensely experienced in Veneguera this Friday during the celebration of the 3rd Folklore Festival, an event that is part of the Veneguera Cultural Week. The gathering brought together traditional music, Canarian attire, and the talent of dozens of students from the Artistic Schools of Mogán, the Municipal Artistic Schools of Arucas, and the Municipal Music School “Candidito” of Teror.
The gala, presented by Eduardo Ramírez and the character Feluca, began with a performance by the Artistic Schools of Mogán, which are celebrating their twentieth anniversary this year. They performed pieces such as 'Santo Domingo', 'Aires de Lima', 'Polca del Sur', and 'Polca de Valleseco'. Among the participants was the mayor of Mogán, Onalia Bueno, who attends traditional dance classes.
One of the night's highlights was the parade of traditional Canarian attire inspired by the 19th century. The costumes, mostly made by participants of the Canarian Sewing Course promoted by the Mogán City Council, showcased traditional techniques, fabrics, and patterns of historical Canarian clothing.
Subsequently, the Traditional Dance Classroom of the Municipal Artistic Schools of Arucas offered a repertoire that included 'Jota Gomera', 'Seguidillas Saltadas', and 'Malagueña Parrandera de Tenerife'. Part of their performance was joined by the Municipal Music School “Candidito” of Teror, whose ensemble, composed of about twenty students, presented a journey through Canarian folklore and traditional Hispano-American music.
The evening concluded with the presentation of gifts made by users of the Mogán Occupational Center and designed by José Peña Tejero. The Veneguera Cultural Week will continue until this Sunday with various activities, including the traditional Night of Wines and Tapas.
