The decision, communicated to the Local Police, is based on a technical report detailing the deterioration of the structure. This document, dated April 17, revealed after a visual inspection on April 8, the undermining of several supports, the destruction of anchorages, the displacement of metal profiles, and the damage to concrete slabs.
Additionally, loose or missing decking pieces and accumulated pebbles were found. A large portion of the affected area is located on public maritime-terrestrial domain land, while another section is on an adjacent private plot.
“"To adopt the necessary measures for immediate repair."
Although the damage was initially attributed to runoff caused by storm Therese, the municipal technician has linked the cause to inadequate maintenance, without ruling out possible construction defects. The resolution, signed on April 21 by the first deputy mayor, was notified to the promenade's owning company, which is required to urgently repair the damage.
The sealing will not be lifted until the platforms regain their stability and safety, thus ensuring the protection of users and the integrity of the infrastructure.
