Road Closures in Tinajo for Los Dolores Pilgrimage 2026

The Tinajo City Council has announced a special traffic regulation and road closure plan for the traditional pilgrimage of Our Lady of Los Dolores 2026, taking place on Saturday, September 12th.

The Tinajo City Council has detailed the special traffic regulation and road closure measures for the traditional pilgrimage and romeria of Our Lady of Los Dolores 2026. The mayor of Tinajo, Jesús Machín, and the Councilor for Security, Yurena Cubas, expressed gratitude to the Consortium of Security and Emergencies and the Cabildo of Lanzarote for their work, urging respect for traffic restrictions to ensure the safety of the thousands of pilgrims traveling to Mancha Blanca.
Several main roads will be affected by traffic closures. The LZ-20 (Arrecife - Tinajo) will be closed in the direction of Arrecife, from the Mozaga roundabout to the Monumento roundabout, from 00:00 to 22:00 on Saturday, September 12th, with traffic diverted through the town of Mozaga.
The LZ-30 (Teguise - Uga) will experience total closures in both directions. The section between the Monumento Roundabout and C/ Calderetas will be closed from 08:00 to 22:00 on September 12th. Subsequently, the section from C/ Calderetas to Cruce de La Florida will be closed from 11:30 to 12:30, with traffic diverted via Montaña Blanca.
The LZ-46 (Tiagua - Mancha Blanca) will be closed in both directions from 10:00 on Saturday, September 12th, until 06:00 on Sunday, September 13th. The LZ-56 (Mancha Blanca - La Geria) will also be totally closed in both directions from 08:00 on September 12th until 06:00 on September 13th, serving as the sole corridor exclusively for public collective transport.
Other affected roads include the LZ-58 (Masdache - La Vegueta), with a total closure in both directions near the Peñón area from 08:00 on September 12th until 06:00 on September 13th. The LZ-67 (La Santa - Yaiza) will be totally closed between the Ferretería de Tinajo and Calle Chimanfaya from 15:00 to 23:00 on Saturday, September 12th.
Finally, the LZ-409 (Mozaga - La Vegueta) will be closed in both directions from 08:00 on September 12th until 06:00 on September 13th.
