“"The continued operation of the School with two groups at CEO Montaña Roja is excellent news. We appreciate the commitment to decentralize education, bringing training closer to our residents, many of whom are linked to commerce and the tourism sector, and therefore, need to communicate in English to improve customer service."

The Yaiza Town Council and the Official Language School have ratified an agreement to maintain in-person English classes in Playa Blanca for the 2026-2027 academic year, ensuring educational opportunities in the locality.
The annex classroom of the Official Language School (EOI) in Playa Blanca will continue to offer its in-person training program. This confirmation, announced by the mayor, guarantees the availability of English levels A2.1 and A2.2 for residents.
Those interested in applying for a place have until Monday, May 18, to formalize their application. All necessary information for the enrollment process is available on the official website of EOI Arrecife.
Since the implementation of the Language School in Playa Blanca in the 2023-2024 academic year, there has been a notable reception, with over one hundred students. The objective is to maintain and strengthen this agreement with the Ministry of Education to continue promoting language teaching in the area.
The existence of this annex classroom of the EOI in Playa Blanca addresses the distance from the central headquarters in Arrecife and the importance of the tourism sector in southern Lanzarote. The Town Council formalized the request to the Ministry of Education of the Government of the Canary Islands, and both institutions support the continuation of this educational initiative.
