This 500-square-meter space is designed to facilitate widespread use, incorporating shaded areas and elements that promote interaction among all children. Additionally, surrounding works have been carried out to improve accessibility, as highlighted by the municipal official.
“"The modernization of Yaiza's children's play areas with an inclusive, autonomous, and accessible approach so that all our boys and girls can enjoy and interact without barriers."
A spokesperson for the Parks and Gardens department of the town hall emphasized the collaboration with associations and groups in Lanzarote dedicated to social missions. This cooperation has been fundamental in technical workshops to design and develop the municipality's Network of Inclusive Parks, which is considered a benchmark in the Canary Islands and Spain for its variety of games, safety, and comfort.
Beyond its recreational value and the autonomy it offers children with functional diversity, the new Yaiza park stands out for its unnoticed accessibility. A representative from the supplier company HPC Ibérica explained that the goal is to avoid stigmatization, allowing children with functional diversity to know the park is made for them, while other users do not perceive the adaptations.
