The Canary Islands 112 Emergency and Security Coordination Center has highlighted its multilingual response capabilities, managing 13,487 calls in English during 2025, underscoring its importance for the foreign population.

The emergency service in the Canary Islands provides direct assistance in five languages: Spanish, English, German, Italian, and French. Additionally, through a multi-platform system, it offers support in over 50 additional languages, thereby ensuring coverage for the significant foreign population residing in or visiting the archipelago.
This multilingual approach positions 112 Canarias as a distinctive model compared to other emergency systems in both Spain and Europe. It facilitates communication in critical situations for individuals who do not speak Spanish, according to a statement issued by the Government of the Canary Islands.

"In 2025, 112 Canarias handled 13,487 calls in English, one of the main languages used by tourists and international residents in the islands."
