Representation of the regional executive at the Fiscal and Financial Policy Council to be held this Wednesday will fall to the Minister of the Presidency. This decision follows the agreement recently reached between the regional president and the ministries of Finance and Territorial Policy.
The agreement reached will allow the islands to receive an additional 1.3 billion euros annually for essential services. The regional executive has positively valued that the new system ensures that resources from the Economic and Fiscal Regime (REF) are not counted in the calculation of ordinary financing, thus protecting the island's unique status.
Despite the harmony at the regional level, the absence of other Popular Party representatives during the announcement of the agreement was notable. However, sources from the regional pact rule out an internal crisis, framing the position as a need to maintain consistency with the national party's strategy.
