The joy at the 'blanquiazul' stronghold began even before the referee's whistle, as Tenerife fans learned of Celta Fortuna's defeat against Osasuna Promesas. This result mathematically guaranteed the championship and promotion for CD Tenerife, turning the match into a true celebration.
Despite the confirmed promotion, the home team, led by Cervera, started the game with great determination. In the first ten minutes, they created two clear scoring opportunities through Noel and Fabricio, forcing Barakaldo to adjust their defense to contain the islanders' initial momentum and balance the play.
The Basque side, after reorganizing their lines, managed to create danger on several occasions, notably a bicycle kick attempt by Arana and a cross that Dani Martín providentially deflected. Pedernales also featured in two risky plays, one where he failed to pass the ball to a teammate in a favorable position and another with a precise cross that Mandiang narrowly missed.
In the second half, CD Tenerife intensified their attack. In the 49th minute, a quick counter-attack initiated by Juanjo Sánchez allowed Noel López to assist Enric Gallego, who scored his seventeenth goal of the season, the first of the afternoon. The hosts continued to seek to extend their lead, with De Vuyst almost assisting Enric again, although Barakaldo's defense remained solid.
After a few minutes of pressure from the visiting team, CD Tenerife went on the offensive again. A play by Balde culminated in a cross that left Dani Fernández in an excellent position. Although his control was not perfect, Maikel Mesa capitalized on the rebound to seal the match with a powerful shot, unleashing the final euphoria at the Rodríguez López, which celebrated the victory alongside its players.
