“"The Pope comes to point us to the cross, which is why the motto of this visit is 'Look Up'. From the Diocese, I can say there is great anticipation. His words and gestures are deeply resonating with people. It is the wisdom of Saint Augustine; he says three phrases and touches your heart. Unarmed and disarming peace."

The agenda for Pope Leo XIV's visit to Spain, scheduled from June 6 to 12, has been unveiled, revealing a series of highly significant events. Among the most notable points, the pontiff will be received by the King and Queen of Spain at the Royal Palace and will become the first Pope to address the Spanish Parliament in a joint session.
The visit will commence in Madrid, where the Pope will hold institutional meetings and visit the CEDIA 24-hour Cáritas center for homeless individuals in Carabanchel. A vigil with young people on the Paseo de la Castellana and a large mass in Cibeles Square on Sunday, June 7, the feast of Corpus Christi, are also planned.
Subsequently, the Pope will travel to Barcelona, where he will visit the Brians 1 women's prison and the Sagrada Familia, coinciding with the inauguration of the Jesus Christ tower and the centenary of Antoni Gaudí's death. The third stage of the journey will take the Pope to the Canary Islands. In Gran Canaria, he will meet with associations dedicated to migration at the port of Arguineguín, a key location for the arrival of small boats. He will also participate in a meeting with the clergy at the Cathedral of Santa Ana and celebrate a mass at the Gran Canaria stadium.
Finally, in Tenerife, the pontiff will visit the Las Raíces Migrant Reception Center and meet with integration associations in the Plaza de Cristo de la Laguna. His trip will conclude with a mass at the port of Santa Cruz, emphasizing the focus on migrant care and the social dimension of his visit.
