The electricity company Endesa has allocated more than two million euros over the last three years to strengthen the distribution network in Tenerife, completing the closure of seven electrical rings.

The total investment by Endesa, through its subsidiary e-distribución, has amounted to 2,098,000 euros. These actions aim to enhance the quality and reliability of the electricity supply for over 175,000 customers on the island.
The closure of electrical rings provides an alternative medium-voltage supply route. This means that in the event of a fault in the main line, the system can redirect power through another path, speeding up service recovery and increasing the grid's resilience against incidents.
Since 2023, seven such projects have been completed on the island: Los Silos-Buenavista, Tacoronte-La Laguna, La Matanza, Cercado Mesa-Cruz Chica (La Laguna), Las Galletas-El Fraile (Arona), Puerto de la Cruz, and Garachico.
Specific projects include the work in Los Silos, with a 420,000 euro investment and 1.4 kilometers of new cabling, benefiting 5,000 users. In Cercado Mesa-Cruz Chica, 340,000 euros were invested for approximately 4,000 customers in La Laguna.
The actions in Tacoronte amounted to 385,000 euros and affected 160,000 customers, including the undergrounding of over two kilometers of lines. In La Matanza, 210,000 euros allowed for the incorporation of 860 meters of new underground lines for about 1,500 customers.
In Puerto de la Cruz, 203,000 euros were allocated to close the ring in the historic center and surrounding areas. In the south, in Las Galletas-El Fraile (Arona), the investment was 250,000 euros for one kilometer of underground lines.
Finally, the work in Garachico, costing over 290,000 euros, has closed a ring between the FP Garachico and El Muelle transformation centers, improving service for 5,000 inhabitants.
