Redwan Baddouh, spokesperson for the Regularización Ya Movement in the Canary Islands, has pointed out that currently only three organizations in the archipelago are authorized to electronically submit documents free of charge on behalf of foreign individuals. These include the Federación de Migrantes de Lanzarote (FEDEMILANZ), based in Lanzarote, and the Asociación para la Inserción Laboral y Fomento de la Economía Social ACTÚA, along with Fundec, both located in Tenerife.
Although the list of accredited collaborating entities by the Ministry of Inclusion, Social Security and Migration includes other state organizations with a presence in the Canary Islands, such as Cáritas, ONG Rescate Internacional, Accem, and CEAR, Baddouh emphasizes the inadequacy of the current network.
“"In the Canary Islands, there are few entities authorized for migrant regularization."
The spokesperson has called for more entities to register, stressing that this authorization does not obligate them to serve everyone but enables them to offer the service. These collaborating organizations can not only manage documentation electronically but also issue vulnerability certificates, a significant achievement promoted by the Regularización Ya Movement.
Baddouh has expressed doubts about the administration's or private lawyers' ability to obtain these vulnerability certificates, especially if the scarcity of collaborating entities persists on some islands. To facilitate regularization applications, some post offices, social security offices, and immigration offices will be enabled, by appointment, to collect documentation and forward it to the Unit for Processing Foreigner Files (UTEX), under the Directorate General of Migration, created to streamline these processes.
