A fire broke out this afternoon in Los Cristianos, Arona (Tenerife), burning several shanties and creating a visible column of black smoke, prompting the activation of emergency services.

The incident occurred next to Amsterdam Avenue, in the town of Los Cristianos, within the municipality of Arona, in southern Tenerife. 1-1-2 Canarias received the alert at 12:26 PM on Friday, April 24, 2026.
Following the notification, a large emergency response was activated, involving the Tenerife Fire Department, Local Police, National Police, and the Canarian Emergency Service (SUC). The latter dispatched a basic life support ambulance for potential casualties.
Firefighters successfully contained the blaze, preventing its spread. According to preliminary reports, one person sustained minor injuries as a result of the incident.
