La Laguna Tenerife player, Jaime Fernández, has highlighted the significance of the third and decisive game against Galatasaray, whom he considers a EuroLeague-level opponent, in their quest for a spot in the Badalona Final Four.

The match against Galatasaray marks a turning point for La Laguna Tenerife's season. This was conveyed by Jaime Fernández on Deportes Cope Tenerife, who approaches the third and final game of the series with ambition. The 'aurinegro' point guard stated: “We are motivated, we are ambitious. We know the importance of the game and we are eager to experience a magical night here”.
Fernández anticipates an extremely close encounter, similar to the first two games. In his words, “It's been a very tight series. We have to pay attention to every detail, value every offense and every defense because everything will count,” emphasizing that small nuances could decide their progression to the Final Four. He also chose not to focus on external factors like refereeing, noting that “It's something we cannot control, the referees will try to do their best and we must focus on our game”.
The player did not hold back praise for Galatasaray, describing them as an elite team: “They have a great team, with a lot of talent, physicality, and points. They are very difficult players to stop; even with good defenses, they find advantages.” He insisted on the need to compete offensively as well: “We have to attack them, make them uncomfortable, try to do our best on both sides of the court.” He also highlighted their versatility: “It's a EuroLeague team, anyone can bring up the ball, they have a lot of quality”.

Regarding the team's performance throughout the season, the point guard valued the Canarian team's consistency despite difficulties: “We are having a quite stable and good year. We have been in the ACB playoffs, played in the Copa del Rey, and now we are in the Champions League playoffs.” He believes the campaign should be viewed with perspective: “Let's not forget that we are Canarias; there are teams with great potential. What we are doing is admirable”.
Fernández also shared his personal satisfaction after overcoming a complicated injury: “In my wildest dreams, I thought I would be so well after the injury. I feel almost better than before; I can train and play without discomfort,” pleased to be able to contribute to the team at a crucial point in the season. He reflected on the demands of modern basketball and the importance of valuing the club's achievements in recent years, mentioning that “There are teams with great rosters fighting not to be relegated,” and cited CB Gran Canaria as an example: “Our neighbors from Gran Canaria have a great roster and are down there.” Therefore, he urged humility: “We must know the competition we play in and value what we have”.
With 4,153 tickets sold, the Santiago Martín Arena is preparing for a historic night, where La Laguna Tenerife will seek its pass to the European Final Four.
