A kamikaze driver, who tested positive for drugs, was seriously injured this Saturday after driving the wrong way on the northern highway of Tenerife (TF-5) and colliding with another car.

The incident occurred when the vehicle involved traveled in the opposite direction from Avenida Benito Pérez Armas, continued over the municipal swimming pool viaduct, and then merged onto the TF-5, where it impacted another car near Chamberí.
As a result of the collision, the kamikaze driver sustained serious injuries and was transported by ambulance to the University Hospital Nuestra Señora de La Candelaria. The occupant of the car traveling in the correct direction was treated for minor injuries.
The Local Police of Santa Cruz de Tenerife reported that the highway was closed in the downward direction for approximately one hour due to the accident. Officers administered a drug test to the driver, which yielded a positive result, and the corresponding report was initiated.
