The project, expected to last approximately one and a half months, has been divided into two phases to minimize disruption for local residents. This intervention is critical due to the risk of landslides, especially after the heavy rainfall recorded in Tenerife in recent months.
“"These actions will be similar to those we have successfully undertaken recently on the La Degollada road, focusing efforts on stabilizing the slope adjacent to the car park and the funeral home located opposite the La Ratona Neighborhood Association."
Councillor Ángel Chinea, head of Public Works, Infrastructure, and Accessibility, highlighted that these areas had been closed as a precautionary measure. The project has been prioritized and will be carried out using the council's own resources.
The first phase of the work involves installing meshes and anchoring bolts, which will require the complete closure of the adjacent car park for machinery and material storage. In the second phase, half of the parking area will be reopened once the mesh is in place and the slope is consolidated, with only the installation of safety barriers remaining.
It is worth noting that the El Rosarito road underwent a comprehensive renovation during this same term, with an investment exceeding 400,000 euros. The La Laguna City Council has provided a contact phone number (689 502 512) and an email address (incidenciasviaslalaguna@vias.es) for any queries or incidents related to these improvement works.
