The property, which has been abandoned for over two decades, has been the subject of various municipal interventions over the years. According to sources from the Security department, the measure is intended to stop incidents that occur repeatedly on the site, where fires involving mattresses and other accumulated materials have been reported.
The history of the site includes a partial demolition carried out by the Urban Planning Department in 2015. On that occasion, the City Council had to act due to the risk of collapse and the presence of people staying inside, resorting to subsidiary execution as it was impossible to locate the company responsible for the property.
Currently, the local administration keeps files open to demand that the landowners adopt the necessary security measures. The cost of previous actions, which exceeded 200,000 euros, along with the imposed fines, remains unpaid due to the lack of response from the owning entity.
