A 67-year-old woman has been rescued by the helicopter of the Emergency and Rescue Group (GES) in Teide National Park after suffering from altitude sickness and syncope.

The helicopter of the Emergency and Rescue Group (GES) has rescued a 67-year-old woman who suffered from altitude sickness in Teide National Park. The incident occurred this Sunday around 1:10 PM.
The Immediate Response Team in Emergencies (ERIE) of the Red Cross deployed to the area, providing initial medical assistance until the rescue helicopter arrived. Subsequently, the GES airlifted the affected woman to the La Guancha heliport.
Once on the ground, medical personnel confirmed that the woman presented symptoms of altitude sickness and had suffered a syncope. She was transferred by ambulance to the Hospital del Norte for recovery.
Personnel from the Tenerife Firefighters Consortium, Rural Environmental Guards of the Cabildo de Tenerife, Local Police officers, and the Civil Guard also collaborated in the rescue efforts.
