The official program for the May Festivities in Santa Cruz de Tenerife has been unveiled, promising a month and a half of activities and record participation. The inaugural event will be the opening speech by Marta González de Vega, scheduled for this Tuesday at García Sanabria Park.
“"The flower festivities begin. We celebrate 532 years since the founding of the capital, evoking traditions passed down through generations."
The city's mayor emphasized the significance of these festivities, which commemorate 532 years since the capital's founding and highlight deeply rooted traditions. The celebrations will run until May 30th, offering a wide array of events for all audiences.
Among the program's highlights is the performance by Pasión Vega at the May Queen election gala. Additionally, the traditional exhibitions of flowers, plants, crafts, and gastronomy will continue, alongside the Book Fair, held from April 29th to May 4th in the vicinity of García Sanabria Park.
Canarian folklore will be featured on May 2nd in La Noria, with performances including that of Pepe Benavente. The musical offerings are diverse, encompassing classical proposals such as the Corazón Mundial del Bolero, Tajaraste, or Son 21 festivals, as well as the show Cartas a Néstor by Besay Pérez and Iván Quintana.
A notable aspect is the high participation, both in the number of candidates for the galas and in the flower and plant stalls. For the popular 'baile de magos', 750 tables will be made available, with tickets purchasable online starting May 23rd.
