The Cabildo de Tenerife has approved a 500,000 euro allocation from its own funds to help finance Pope Leo XIV's visit to the island next June, joining contributions from the Government of Canarias and the Cabildo de Gran Canaria.

This decision was made unanimously during the corporation's last plenary session, where a credit modification was included within the general budget. This modification encompasses various actions totaling over 15 million euros.
The president of the Cabildo, Rosa Dávila, framed this expenditure as a demonstration of the “willingness to collaborate” with the papal visit. According to Dávila, this expense had been previously discussed and agreed upon with both the Episcopal Conference and the Bishopric.
During his stay in Tenerife, Pope Leo XIV is scheduled to celebrate a large mass at the port of Santa Cruz de Tenerife and visit a migrant center, highlighting the social and pastoral nature of his trip.
