The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) predicts a generally stable day for the Canary Islands, although cloudy intervals are expected in the low-lying northern areas of the larger islands. On La Palma, weak and occasional rainfall is possible by the end of the day.
In Tenerife, cloud cover will be concentrated in the northern part during the morning, evolving towards clear skies from midday onwards. The rest of the island will enjoy mostly clear or little-cloudy skies. Temperatures will remain without significant changes, although mid-altitude areas might experience a slight rise, with highs potentially reaching around 30 degrees Celsius in southern, eastern, and western parts of Gran Canaria.
Specifically for Tenerife, Aemet anticipates cloudy intervals below 700 to 900 meters in the north, with sunshine predominating during the central hours of the day. The southern and eastern slopes will have clear skies. Temperatures will remain stable, with a slight increase in mid-altitude areas. In Santa Cruz de Tenerife, maximum temperatures will range between 20 and 27 degrees Celsius.
Winds will blow from the northeast with moderate intensity, potentially strengthening in the afternoon on the southeastern slope, the northwestern tip, and the southern area of the metropolitan region. A strengthening of the trade winds is expected in the second half of the day, with possible very strong gusts on the southeastern and northwestern slopes of the mountainous islands, including Tenerife, Gran Canaria, La Gomera, and El Hierro. The southwestern coasts will maintain the sea breeze pattern.
Across the rest of the archipelago, Gran Canaria will have clouds in the north and sun elsewhere, with highs possibly exceeding 30 degrees Celsius in mid-altitude areas. La Palma will experience cloudy intervals in the north and east, with a chance of light rain at the end of the day. La Gomera and El Hierro will alternate between clouds and clear spells in the north. Lanzarote and Fuerteventura will see morning cloudiness in the north and west, clearing during the day.
Regarding sea conditions, winds from the north and northeast are expected at force 2 to 5, with intervals of force 6 in some areas. Choppy seas or moderate swell are anticipated, increasing to rough seas throughout the day. Variable winds and choppy seas will prevail on the southwestern coasts.
