Preparations for the papal visit to Tenerife have been intensified. This Sunday marks the closure of registration for the two central events: the mass at the port of Santa Cruz de Tenerife and the gathering at the Plaza del Cristo de La Laguna. Starting Monday, digital tickets with QR codes, mandatory for entry, will be progressively distributed.
Dozens of volunteers are working at the planning center in Casa Mesa to organize attendee distribution. Concurrently, the accreditation office is printing necessary passes for organizational and service staff. All attendees are reminded of the requirement to carry both their QR ticket and a valid identification document, which will be checked at access points.
The organization emphasizes the importance of planning travel due to the anticipated large crowds. Public transport modifications have been announced, including changes to TITSA bus routes, shuttle services to the port, alterations to the tram, and adjustments to taxi stands near event venues. Attendees are advised to arrive early and prioritize public transport, following security personnel's instructions.
The local papal visit committee expresses gratitude for participants' understanding and the efforts of volunteers and organizing teams. The arrival of Leo XIV is considered one of the most significant religious and social events in Canarias in recent decades, with preparations now in their final stage to ensure the safety and order of the events for thousands of faithful.
