Three Injured After Waste Truck Overturns on TF-1 in Arona

Three people were injured in the early hours of Wednesday, May 13, 2026, after a waste truck overturned on the TF-1, near the Guaza exit, in the municipality of Arona, Tenerife.

The incident took place around 1:14 AM, according to information released by the 112 Emergency and Security Coordination Center of the Government of the Canary Islands. The vehicle, carrying three occupants, overturned on the road for reasons yet to be specified.
The alert immediately mobilized emergency teams, including Tenerife Firefighters, who had to extricate one of the occupants, a 47-year-old man, who was trapped. This individual sustained a severe head injury and was transferred by a medicalized ambulance to Hospiten Sur.
The other two occupants, both 40 years old, suffered minor injuries. One was evacuated to Hospital del Sur-El Mojón and the other to Hospital Quirón Costa Adeje. For medical assistance, the CECOES 112 activated one medicalized ambulance and two basic life support ambulances.
Personnel from the Roads Service also attended the scene to clear the road, along with officers from the Local Police and the Guardia Civil, who initiated the corresponding proceedings to clarify the causes of the rollover.
